The United Way of North Carolina has honoured PotashCorp Aurora with a rare and special award recognizing the facilities employees for their efforts following Hurricane Irene.

The employees of Lanigan division achieved 1 million hours without a lost time accident on January 31, 2012.

Aurora, North Carolina – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) today announced a $250,000 donation to the Beaufort County United Way for the PotashCorp/BCUW Hurricane Irene Fund.  The fund will be used to support relief efforts in and around Aurora, North Carolina following the hurricane that struck the American East Coast last weekend. PotashCorp has approximately 1,100 employees at its Aurora phosphate facility located in Beaufort County.

The employees of Cassidy Lake Division achieved 14 years without a lost time accident on August 22, 2011.

Sussex, New Brunswick – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) today announced a $50,000 donation toward the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for a new lab to be housed at Saint John Regional Hospital. Stewart Brown, General Manager of PotashCorp’s New Brunswick operations, congratulated Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation and campaign volunteers on the success of the $680,000 fundraising campaign and explained why PotashCorp got involved.
